Mercer Island Town Center Street Tree Inventory

Facet provided the City of Mercer Island with a comprehensive tree inventory of city-owned trees within the defined section of the Town Center and Island Crest Way in 2018. These included trees that were in tree grates, and medians, and incorporated into the sidewalk design. Facet’s arborists collected tree attribute data, which included the location, species, size, general condition, and impact on surrounding infrastructure for input into ArcGIS Field Maps. The City’s downtown street tree conditions and impacts were compiled into a report summarizing study findings and highlighting areas to prioritize reconstruction, and recommending methods, technology, and tree species to improve the function and resiliency of future reconstruction projects. The Facet team completed the Mercer Island Town Center Street Tree Management Plan in October 2024.
