Energize Eastside’s Tree Inventory: Puget Sound Energy

Puget Sound Energy’s Energize Eastside project includes a new substation and more than 15 miles of upgraded transmission lines from Redmond to Renton. From inventory to permitting to public communication, Facet helped PSE see the forest and the trees—translating complex, tree-level data into straightforward decisions at every step.

Our team inventoried more than 21,000 trees and large shrubs along the corridor, building a baseline dataset to support planning and permitting. We also developed a detailed landcover dataset to inform impact modeling and continue to work closely with project engineers to assess vegetation impacts using three-dimensional transmission line designs.

The result? A responsive, data-driven approach to tree preservation, permitting compliance, and community transparency. Interactive web maps help inform affected property owners and regulatory agencies, while ongoing updates keep the project adaptive as it advances.

From code interpretation to fieldwork to stakeholder communication, Facet’s arboriculture team helpsour clients make confident decisions to keep their projects moving precisely and decisively.
